About Steph & Penny

me for the blog

Hi! I’m Steph and that beautiful little pistachio KitchenAid below is Penny πŸ™‚

Firstly, you should know that I am very much an amateur! I am self-taught (and still learning!) and I’ve set this blog up so I can enjoy sharing simple and (hopefully) delicious baking and cooking recipes with you – both triumphant and disastrous πŸ˜‰

Before I got Penny – the love of my cooking and baking life – I was making and mixing cakes with a fork! I didn’tΒ even have an electric hand mixer!

I have always been encouraged by my wonderful friends and family to bake, so I’ve set up this blog to share the recipes and experiences along my baking journey πŸ™‚

Most of my baking is done in my kitchen at home (a teeny tiny 1 bedroom flat our gorgeous new house in Leeds!) but I will happily cook for friends and family, wherever that may take me…..I live with my boyfriend Dave and our little tortoise Georgie! (She is an amazing little red foot with bags of character and curiosity!). Dave also happens to be a pretty excellent cook and makes the MOST AMAZING chilli so hopefully I’ll be able to get that recipe on here as well!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my blog and feel free to get in touch πŸ™‚

Bon Appetite!

S & P x

  1. Steph your blog is great and your recipes look delicious, I cannot wait to try…….all of them. Those kitchen aid mixers are the best, the one I use was my great grandmas that I was given when I first moved out on my own,it’s basic white and I would love to get a cute color but it still runs like a champ so I have no reason to part with it, so I think you and penny are going to have a long and wonderful relationship:)

  2. Haha! I discovered your blog because you followed me recently – did you realise how similar we are?! My KitchenAid’s name is Penelope (Penny for short) and my bf’s name is Dave too! I used to work in Leeds as well! And, most obviously, we both bake and blog haha. Looking forward to seeing more blog posts from you πŸ™‚
